SEHA Launches a New Initiative to Promote Local Farmers

The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) distributed baskets of fresh local vegetables to 300 employees at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The initiative is a reflection of SEHA’s support for the Abu Dhabi Farmers’ Services Centre (ADFSC) and an effort to encourage healthy eating habits among its workforce.

The move plays an important role in sustaining national agriculture and encouraging local farmers across the Emirate.

In support of behavior change towards engaging a healthy diet, the event was attended by various SEHA officials and the company’s executive director, Rashid Al Qubaisi.

SEHA’s marketing and communications director, Salama Al Mazrouei said, “we will do our best to promote and market fresh local produce on behalf of the farmers”, adding that it is important that we are all reminded of the benefits of eating fruits and vegetables five times every day.

Scientific research over the years has continually reaffirmed the contribution of healthy eating habits in preventing and/or delaying the onset of diseases like cancer, diabetes and heart related ailments.
